The Gabriel Archer Tavern was built in 1987 on footprints of an old farm shed. Today, its mission is to provide a memorable farm-to-table dining experience that's both delicious and nourishing.

In addition to a half-acre produce garden and greenhouse on site where lettuces and herbs will be grown, our chef works hard to find local farmers as partners in producing a menu oriented towards fresh and seasonal specialties.

Our wide variety of fresh selections from our unique menu will guarantee that everyone in your party leaves with a smile.

Amazing food, brunch menu has many offerings, vegetarian choices, fresh ingredients, wine flights are white, red or sweet. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended in cozy, casual setting .

I went for dinner on a Saturday night with my young daughters. All the staff were very friendly. The hostess, Shanell welcomed us and had a table by the window ready with a highchair as requested. Our server, Yanice was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient with us. The manager, Madison stopped by the table to ensure everything was going well. I had the chilled cantaloupe soup, which was delicious! Very refreshingly bright flavors; ideal for a summer day. The hanger steak was well seasoned & cooked perfectly. The accompaniments, broccolini & mashed potatoes were served pipping hot and generous portions. I also ordered takeout for my husband, the spinach salad and pork chop. Both were packaged with care and very flavorful. Kudos to the chef! With such courteous staff and fresh menu selections, The Gabriel Archer Tavern is easily a top choice when dining in Williamsburg.

We ate outside till it started to rain, then were seated inside for dessert and coffee. Both venues are lovely though it wasa little noisy inside. Food was all excellent especially cantaloupe soup and flourless chocolate cake. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The influence of new Vineyard owners and chef are quite evident. Great menu with new additions and very attentive, knowledgeable servers. I have dined there 4 times since May, all except once under al fresco under the pergola which adds another special experience. As for indoors, I would suggest finding a way to modify the noise level.

Entrees were simple and well prepared to let the ingredients showcase their flavors, Plating was elegantly done. The hanger steak was absolutely green with pesto and cooked properly to medium rare and rare for each person who had it. The crab cakes were more crab than cake and seasoned to let the crab shine. The fresh peas were a welcome surprise. The aoli was okay and in my opinion, unnecessary,

Food and service were excellent but dining area is very noisy so couldn’t converse comfortably.

Food was fabulous but due to the noise we could not wait to leave. The new owners should consider a new ceiling to tamp down the noise. It’s impossible to have a conversation. They need an acoustical ceiling. This will probably keep us from returning. Service was great.

OpenTable is getting reservations wrong! We have been trying over the last few months to get a time for reservations and have not been able to get the times we want. Found out later that there were times available

We had a 7pm reservation and were seated right away in the main room near the bar. The room was extremely noisy and it was really difficult to hear and carry on a conversation. The acoustics are just not good. There were also two tables of patrons that were really loud, which contributed to the noise. Quality of the food was good and we both enjoyed our meals, however charging extra for bread when you've ordered a dinner entree that costs $35 seems a bit ridiculous. I would suggest that the management reconsider that charge…just build it into the cost of the entrees. There is a new chef at the restaurant and i look forward to seeing the changes his expertise will bring!
