With a vibrantly colored indoor-outdoor dining room overlooking panoramic views of downtown Long Beach and the historic Queen Mary, Fuego is an amazing restaurant in Long Beach CA that specializes in mariscos (fresh seafood). Also featured is a generous array of antojitos (appetizers), as well as tacos, tortas and entrées by award winning Chef Victor Juarez.

The bar serves premium tequilas-the largest selection in the region-that may be sampled at the bar along with handcrafted margaritas and other signature cocktails.

Made the mistake of eating here on the 4th of July. While the outdoor location was perfect for viewing the fireworks and the band was wonderful, the service was bad and food even worse. I understand it was a busy night, but the waiter spilled drinks on my purse and bumped into my chair multiple times during dinner. The most disappointing part of the experience was the food. I ordered a Caesar salad and instead of getting chill crusted croutons (as listed on the menu) they gave me cubed white wonder bread, not even toasted! I could go on and on but I won’t. If you only care about ambiance, and food or service isn’t a deal breaker, then you may like it at Fuego.

Not enough staff for a holiday event. Staff present was kind and helpful. Some of our food was cold and we were told upon arrival they were short staffed so we would be waiting for food for a while.

Unfortunately, Fuego was quite possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had. The cocktails were not well made, the service was so backed up that in an hour and a half we hadn’t ordered dinner, and the appetizers were disappointing. The guacamole ($18) was fine, but the choriqueso ($16) was inedible; the chips were an odd mix of old/burnt house chips and what seemed like nacho chips. Due to what they called an error in the printed gratuity policy, the billing was also incorrect, which led to a weirdly aggressive confrontation with the manager (the issue could’ve been resolved very easily had he not insisted on forcefully talking over us and trying to “correct” us with incorrect information). We probably would’ve been disappointed but accepting of the bad food and service, if not for the bad environment. We arrived early and were advised our request (in the reservation) for an outside table could be accommodated, with space being cleared so we didn’t have to be directly next to the VERY loud band. (The unexpected noise problem posed a particular issue for me due to a disability.) Inexplicably, a different hostess (who had been less-than-polite to us and other guests at check in) then told us no outside tables were available, before sitting us at an inside table directly next to the band, and then leading other groups to the supposedly nonexistent outside tables. I’d generally be remiss to attribute that kind of thing to discrimination but for the fact that we arrived early and checked in, twice, before the other groups—meaning, they either did not have an earlier reservation, or they did but arrived after their grace period. In either event, they shouldn’t have preempted our request based on the reservation policy. There was a glaring demographic difference in our groups, though. The disparate treatment made my group very uncomfortable. Also note - no cell service or wifi, which is particularly challenging if you plan to use Uber/Lyft.

we've been there numerous times. The menu was a limited one for July 4th. did not know that when I made the reservation. Louder and service was slower. We will go back though.

Service was great. Food prepared fresh and delicious. Prices were on the higher end and on top of that, they add a 20% gratuity to all checks no matter party size. Disappointed on the latter.

Nice restaurant. Was a little disappointed that we were unable to enjoy the happy hour menu out on the patio.

I took my mom there for her birthday yesterday. The weather was amazing. The view was amazing as well. The service was very great. They made sure to make sure that I had enough protection from the sun if needed. I also have had my son’s 21st birthday there a few years ago and they were very accommodating as well. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you are coming in from out of town. Very peaceful, relaxing great views great vibe

Lovely location but some problems. We had reservations for 5 and they didn't have any tables for 5. We had two seeing options both at tables that would seat 12 people easily do it was awkward and felt difficult to talk. We ordered beers. The beer we ordered apparently ran out after we ordered it and we had to get a different beer. We ordered crab cakes and they had also run out of that but didn't tell us until almost everyone else's dinner was served. Surprisingly the child's meal, chicken tenders, came to the table thirty minutes after the other food that hadn't run out arrived. Why the child's meal would have taken so much longer than the rest of the food to prepare was a mystery. All in all not a great experience especially for a place that changes between $30 and $50 per entree.

Food is good and quality is good. A little pricey for the area. Beautiful view! Great ambience.
