Fresh Salt is more than just a restaurant; it is a place to enjoy one another’s company and experience the breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound quietly intertwined with the Connecticut River. Utilizing the chef’s simple yet high quality approach, the fresh, seasonal local ingredients of Connecticut are transformed into beautifully inspired dishes. Our Local Food Commitment allows us to work with local farmers and artisans to ensure the quality of locally grown ingredients from the sea, land and soil. These fresh ingredients and vibrant tastes of Fresh Salt are available daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Located right on the water means seriously fresh seafood and our menu definitely delivers. From the beloved Lobster Roll to the cherished Clam Chowder and so many more specialties, Fresh Salt dishes are guaranteed to please every palate. We offer indoor and outdoor dining, outdoor dining is based on a first come first serve basis, outdoor dining is non-reservable.

    My friends and I just had dinner there last night. The food (raw bar, cioppino and fresh fish special) were all outstanding. The waitress (Jamie) was lovely!! Highly recommended!!

    Fresh Salt is always a great choice. We had a dinner celebration. We sat in the Terra Mar room , not the best booth (near the water station) but it was still fine. Service was prompt and friendly, and did a good job w recommendations. Salmon was terrific, as was the mahi.. scallop special was a hit as well a a lot of lobster meat in the risotto that accompanied it. All in all a really good experience.

    This place was the perfect place for a beautiful summer day. Our server David was so informative and yet relaxed allowing us to savor our time at this amazing restaurant. We will definitely be back.

    Popular restaurant on the water overlooking a marina, where the Connecticut River meets the ocean. The food is always good, service good, and the overall environment attractive.

    We had the halibut over lobster risotto which was outstanding. Casual outdoor dining area which was nicely spaced to avoid hearing other conversations. Great service. This is one of our main choices for a nice upscale meal with great views of the marina during the summer months.

    The restaurant is top notch with the best waterside dining in CT, in my opinion. I can tell when a restaurant is well-managed and this one certainly is. We ride over an hour just to go there in the summer. Food is fresh and well prepared. The drinks are made well. The place to go for a relaxing dinner. I would also say a reservation is necessary. Even at that, outside dining is first come first serve.

    We had the swordfish and Mahi Mahi dinners and they were both cooked to perfection! Presentation was excellent. Service was perfect!! Can’t wait to go again.
