Utilizing the chef’s simple yet high quality approach, the fresh, seasonal local ingredients of Connecticut are transformed into beautifully inspired dishes. Our Local Food Commitment allows us to work with local farmers and artisans to ensure the quality of locally grown ingredients from the sea, land and soil. These fresh ingredients and vibrant tastes of Fresh Salt are available daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Located right on the water means seriously fresh seafood and our menu definitely delivers. Pricey for what you get 75 for a small salad 2 cups clam chowder and 2 cokes . as long as you know going in nice near water

Great service. The cocktails and wine were nice. We had a good Caesar salad, shared the large. The lobster roll had an amazing amount of lobster in it….so delicious. The scallop and lobster pasta was also good.

We have been patrons of Fresh Salt for 3-4 yrs. Er sat in the back dining room area which is ok. It would’ve been nicer to sit closer to the windows to get the view. Three out of our party of 4 had the halibut special Halibut over seafood risotto The risotto was excellent, even though it was a small portion The fish it’s seemed to lack flavor. More due to the nature of the halibut fish. Needs to get itself flavor from the preparation. My main issue was with our server Jeffrey or lack of service. He started out ok. However, every time he came to our table he seemed extremely rushed Like we only could have 3 mins of his time. After we placed our dinner order we never saw him again until he came to clear our plates which had been sitting in front of us for ten mins after we were finished with our meals. We had told him when he took our appetizers and cocktail order that we would probably like to have wine with our dinner. But he was MIA so no wine with dinner. Very disappointing. Put a damper on the evening. We had brought our friends, they had never been to Fresh Salt before

This restaurant does some things better than others but everything is generally just Okay. Expect hard bread (kids PB&J), over cooked fish and odd flavor combinations. Nothing id made from scratch.

The food was excellent but the wine was very overpriced. The server was very pleasant but there were long delays between courses. The restaurant was very noisy to a level that was unpleasant.

Food was good as usual - I have been there many times when visiting my son in the area. The disappointing aspect this time was the very poor service. The servers are clearly untrained. We wanted to linger over coffee after a nice meal and clearly had the strong impression that the servers wanted us to leave despite the fact that there were no people waiting for our table and we were surrounded by empty tables. The servers clearly had an agenda of getting us “out of the hair” for not apparent reason.

Food was exceptionally delicious. I loved the pork chop with mashed potatoes and my wife was surprised by the salmon and hummus. Both dinners were well prepared and served.

Really nice evening out. The food was very good, the service was solid. Really pretty on the water. Will definitely be back.
