Fresh Salt is more than just a restaurant; it is a place to enjoy one another’s company and experience the breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound quietly intertwined with the Connecticut River. Utilizing the chef’s simple yet high quality approach, the fresh, seasonal local ingredients of Connecticut are transformed into beautifully inspired dishes. Our Local Food Commitment allows us to work with local farmers and artisans to ensure the quality of locally grown ingredients from the sea, land and soil. These fresh ingredients and vibrant tastes of Fresh Salt are available daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Located right on the water means seriously fresh seafood and our menu definitely delivers. From the beloved Lobster Roll to the cherished Clam Chowder and so many more specialties, Fresh Salt dishes are guaranteed to please every palate. We offer indoor and outdoor dining, outdoor dining is based on a first come first serve basis, outdoor dining is non-reservable.

Beautiful venue! We sat right on the water! David was our server - he was AWESOME! We did not feel rushed to finish our meal at all... David was attentive, but not overly so. At the end of the evening, he surprised us with a little "anniversary dessert." Very thoughtful! He was so sweet!! 🤗 Highly recommend!

Great food and views of the marina!! Taryn was an amazing server and Madison was so in fulfilling our seating requests!

The food was fantastic! The sriracha calamari appetizer was delicious, as were both entrees. The halibut sitting on top of sautéed spinach & lobster risotto was perfect & the mahi mahi on coconut rice with blistered tomatoes & pesto was fabulous. We shared a large (maybe too large) bowl of vanilla gelato with toasted coconut, caramel, & whipped cream. It was yummy & a nice way to top off the meal. No complaints, what so ever, about the kitchen. On the other hand, the dining room was very noisy. It was the acoustics of the room. The diners were just speaking in normal restaurant voices. Also, our wait person, though very friendly, was not very attentive & we sat for too long waiting to be taken care of throughout our meal. I would still recommend Fresh Salt because the food was so good. Perhaps sitting outside would be more enjoyable than the noisy dining room & maybe our wait person was just having an off night...who knows?

The greeting and the service was great. The food was very disappointing. Whole belly clams were gummy and unappetizing looking hamburgers. It was a Sunday and maybe more attention was being paid to the buffet than the à la cart.

We have been to this restaurant several times and we are never disappointed. The food is always amazing, and the service is the best. I had the pork chop which had to be one of the best I ever had. Our server was very attentive providing excellent service. She was very patient since we were with friends who had never been to the restaurant and had some questions. She took her time and made us feel very welcome. We look forward to returning.

We were seated immediately and within minutes our server acknowledged us. She was very busy, the whole restaurant was for the holiday. But the food came out when it should. It was delicious and our server was very attentive.

Calamari was delicious , raw clams very fresh. You can not beat the view.

Food was amazing, portion size was stable. A bit over priced for portion sizes. The view is of the marina, very calming!
