Fresh Salt is more than just a restaurant; it is a place to enjoy one another’s company and experience the breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound quietly intertwined with the Connecticut River. Utilizing the chef’s simple yet high quality approach, the fresh, seasonal local ingredients of Connecticut are transformed into beautifully inspired dishes. Our Local Food Commitment allows us to work with local farmers and artisans to ensure the quality of locally grown ingredients from the sea, land and soil. These fresh ingredients and vibrant tastes of Fresh Salt are available daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Located right on the water means seriously fresh seafood and our menu definitely delivers. From the beloved Lobster Roll to the cherished Clam Chowder and so many more specialties, Fresh Salt dishes are guaranteed to please every palate. We offer indoor and outdoor dining, outdoor dining is based on a first come first serve basis, outdoor dining is non-reservable.

    Fresh Salt is one of our favorite restaurants and tonight definitely did not disappoint. It’s the best time of year, after Labor Day but still nice and warm and sunny. The new fall menu had so many options, even for me as a celiac. Highly recommend the butternut squash and parsnip bisque, it was absolute perfection. Our server was very warm and friendly, and he took my food allergy very seriously.

    First time at Fresh Salt. Took my parents and we all enjoyed our meals. Cocktails were amazing, served bread at start, seafood dishes and dessert delicious. Pretty location. Noise level a bit loud and service a bit slow, but waitstaff very good. Would return for another special occasion.

    Nancy was her server, and she was absolutely wonderful. The whole experience from the food to the drinks was made infinitely better with the joyful and great service from Nancy.

    Lovely afternoon buffet brunch on the water. Large variety of foods -- waffle station, omelette station, charcuterie selection, pastries, fruit, carving and pasta stations, soup, vegetables, prepared pasta, short ribs, plentiful desserts, etc. We arrived at 11:30 and left at 1:30. No one rushed us. We dined on the outside patio. The only potential downside is that the food is divided among 3 rooms, all of which are inside the Inn. Albeit a short walk from the patio, some may find the walk a nuisance. Personally, I did not mind.
