Old school stalwart that never goes out of fashion. Family and friends’ favouirite. Straddles the perfect line between event and intimate. Has done for 55 years. We share the same age 🥴

Excellent food, wonderful cocktails . I asked for a Singapore Sling which wasn’t on the cocktail menu, and they were happy to make this for me. I usually get declined when I ask for a Singapore Sling! Would highly recommend Fredericks.

It was an acceptable lunch: not a great one. Decent VFM, but the flavours were lacking. We’re not very good with tomatoes in this country, and the starter lived down to my expectations. Mackerel was lovely, but the toms were dull.

Lunch with a business colleague at this lovely restaurant. The service from the welcome at reception to the table and all in between was great - all friendly, smiley and helpful. The menu was great - didn't know what to choose as all looked delicious. What we both did choose was amazing. The quality of the food, taste, look was beautiful. We could not find fault with anything (not that we were looking!). We were not hurried at any point and it was a most relaxing lunch. Thank you.

Truly first-class. Great food; interesting wine list; lovely ambience and brilliant service (particularly from the excellent Jason). Thank you. Good to see a full restaurant for mid-week lunch too.

This is an oasis of calm in the bustling centre of busy Islington. I ate here with my sister and brother in law who are visiting from the US. The restaurant interior is a contemporary refurbishment of a heritage building. It is spacious and flooded with light. The service was impeccable throughout with the foh and waiting staff welcoming us and responding to our questions politely and promptly. My brother in law had recently tried a pornstar martini and was keen for me to try one. They made this happen even though it wasn’t on their menu and even pointed out that they were following the classic method of serving the delicious passion fruit drink with an accompanying shot of Prosecco. Our main courses were impeccable and dessert just as good. Everything beautifully presented. We shall definitely return.

Frederick's is not cheap, but it is totally worth it. For a little more than an average dining experience, if you go to Frederick's you will have an amazing time. Firstly, the service is always good, and you get what you pay for with the optional charge. It is a lovely setting and atmosphere. I've been there a few times and always study the menu prior to my visit. Was thrown this time, by the availability of lobster! I had it as a starter, my friend, as a main. I asked for Asian slaw instead of rocket salad. The house cocktail was delicious. My main course - Daphne's lamb - was one of the best meals I've ever had. Amazing meat, but also lovely veg - not supplied as an additional extra but included in price. The bread was tasty and unlimited. I'm all about the food but had a simple glass of white, recommended by a server (Hungarian) who was very knowledgeable about menu for food and drink. I shared a passionfruit crème brûlée - and am still thinking about it - really exceptional. I eat out quite a lot but am not particularly rich. As I've got older, quality matters far more. This was not a special occasion, but it was an incredibly special dinner. It is so worthy going to Frederick's for something really special at not much more cost.
