We did the Piano Bar Experience. The food was great and our waiter was both an excellent server and singer! But the performer on the piano shouldn’t sing. He’s an excellent pianist but his voice was not up to par with the price level.

Great restaurant and great service! Felt restaurant was loud with staff doing side work but it was also a late reservation time

As a historic site and one of the few old taverns remaining, we hoped that the atmosphere might have been sympathetic to the history. Another reviewer said it felt like the 18th century. Well, only if Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey and Glenn Miller were around then. We were in the rear of the restaurant which had only 4/5 tables occupied. The room has two big ugly pipes running across it but it was the music that really jarred. Mentioning this to the waiter he just laughed and agreed the music was loud and out of place. The girl at check-in just said it wasn’t her call but would ask someone. The food was borderline acceptable. One of two large carrots plonked next to half a chicken was practically raw. Certainly the worst dining experience of the 7 days in NY so far. Avoid.

Historical venue has interesting artifacts which enhances the experience. Servers were friendly but service was slow from the kitchen.

Only downside was that there were no physical menus. It was all through QR code. This made it more challenging for the older and less tech savvy in our group
