One of our favorite restaurants. The service is always great. We’ve never had a bad meal here, and I’ve been coming for at least 60 years, Even though the restaurant was very busy, we were not rushed after we finished our dinner. We appreciated being able to visit.

Excellent way to celebrate an anniversary! We took advantage of “Dine Downtown Sacramento” week and had a delicious 3-course meal featuring some of Frank Fat’s best dishes. Great value and service. Even though we had to wait a bit for a quiet booth, it was worth it.

Went for dine downtown, was great and big portions. We were a table of 3 but it looked like tables of 2 got the same amount of food as we did. Good overall, service was a bit slow to get waters at the start but food all came out hot and well coursed.

Great experience once you walk through the door! Inviting service and recommendations! Food was delicious especially the Szechwan steak and banana cream pie!

Michelin-awarded restaurant for a reason, with next level service from Mike. Best hot & sour soup I’ve ever had, not to mention the high quality ingredients used in all dishes.

We ordered the vegetable chow fun because my sister had it about a month ago and said it was wonderful. Well it wasn’t. It didn’t have enough oyster sauce and was pretty dry. We also order the combination platter and salt and pepper chicken was also very dry. Other than that everything else was good.

The food was incredible. You can really tell what’s made in house. None of that overly sweet or overly processed flavor you get at nearly Chinese restaurants in the area. We had the appetizer combination, the Brady fried chicken, the Immigrant beef, and the banana cream pie. We also ordered the Mai Thai and the Chamborita. The only issue was the Chamborita was a bit small. Don’t miss out on the pie. No imitation banana flavored pudding here. It’s loaded with real fruit, maybe a little bit of custard, and topped with a mound of whipped cream. The crust was so crispy too! Best pie I’ve ever had, and I tend to be a baked-fruit pie person. The servers and bussers were on point. It was Chinese food with a fine dining flair. But it never made us feel like it place was stuffy, like a lot of fine dining places can feel. I loved the history of the location too. It’s amazing the restaurant has been in the same family and operating for over 80 years. The manager came by to check on us and we were pretty sure one of the Fat’s family members did too. I can’t believe I’ve lived around this area off and on for 30 years, but have never been here. It’s a new favorite! We will definitely be back!

Have been going there for about 40 years Lina was friend and it was than and is still true today. THE BEST CHINESE FOOD I have eaten. and I have cruised most of the world. as usual ordered my favrite Shrimp with candied walnuts. Hard to decide as all dishes are prepred to be delicous and wanting more. We are most fortunate to have Frank Fats in Sacramento. For those who dont know also have meeting room for celebrations personal or business. They enhance my life and my mouth sings with the many flavors. Sheri Welles

This was our 11th year visiting Frank Fats for our New Year’s Eve dinner. The food is consistently high quality and prepared to perfection. I will say the last 2 years we found the service to be slipping just a bit. Understandable with the California restrictions that have really driven the cost of labor up. We will always hold this restaurant fondly in memory and will make sure that next year is our 12th. Want to make sure to also say the valet guy is awesome and does a fantastic job!
