Francesca's Intimo a ouvert au début de 2001 et est le 11e restaurant du Francesca's Restaurant Group. Il offre une ambiance contemporaine décontractée et sophistiquée de « trattoria » et sert une bonne cuisine rustique avec un service amical et des prix raisonnables au centre-ville de Lake Forest. Le menu propose une cuisine typique de Rome et des régions avoisinantes : la Toscane, l’Ombrie et le Latium. Le Francesca’s Restaurant Group a été fondé en 1992 par le restaurateur Scott Harris. Tout a commencé dans un petit restaurant italien situé sur North Clark Street à Chicago, puis le savoir-faire s’est développé sur trois concepts de restaurant situés dans 33 emplacements à travers quatre états. Basé à Chicago, le Francesca's Restaurant Group possède et exploite actuellement 23 restaurants, cinq « Davanti Enoteca » et cinq « Glazed and Infused ».

I've been doing Francescas Intimo for a long time. It's safe to say the place is past its prime. A tired menu, average to below average food, and a now costly for what you get. It used to be fairly priced and had a much better-changing menu along with above-average food. Good to see other people giving up on as well since it was half full on Friday night at 7 PM. Used to be packed all the time, people are talking with their legs and going elsewhere. Disappointing to see a good place turned bad.

Disappointing -- We have eaten here before and looked forward to returning. The food was average -- The service!! WOW -- I have never felt like I was being rushed through a meal so quickly. I guess the wait-service didn't appreciate patrons that don't order drinks.

We have been Francesca's customers for a long time and it is generally solid. We had eaten here about 3 weeks ago and had a lovely dinner. Tonight though was disappointing on multiple levels. It took a VERY long time to be served our dinner (45 minutes to an hour after we ordered). No update on when it would be served, the delay - nothing. When we finally made a comment to our server, he said our food would be out soon. He then returned to share that my husband's dinner had accidentally been given to someone else, hence the long wait. I asked then if he could at least bring my son's dinner out then. The server then returned with 3 of the 4 dishes. 2 of those dishes were chicken funghi, which is my go to dish. Unusually, the chicken portion was very small and there was virtually no spinach. My husband's dish came 5-10 minutes later. Dessert came in less than 5 minutes. No apologies for the delay, nothing. For the several hundred dollars that the meal cost, there are lots of equally good Italian places to eat, not sure that I would land here again for a while.

Our food came very late. We waited for an hour and 15 min. The salad had little dressing. We received more but it was basically oil. The waiter told us he had no idea what was going on. No apology. My husband spoke to the manager. Nothing. She was checking. After we paid our bill we spoke to the manager. She took $80. Off our bill. Our guests won't return. Poorly handled.

Our experience was marginal at best this time. 1. We asked the food runner for pepper for our salads and he brought salt and pepper shakers to our table. Obviously, they usually ask you at the table if you want cracked tasty pepper. 2. The risotto was terrible, dry and tasteless. Also, it was the smallest portion I ever had. Francesca’s failed to deliver on this dining experience.

Food was good. I’ll start with that. But the service was really bad. Not sure if the guy was overwhelmed? It didn’t seem overly busy, we basically made a reservation and walked right over. But really, 20 mins+ to get a glass of wine? No real understanding or acknowledgment that we were waiting an inordinate amount of time? Prioritizing other tables when clearly we had been waiting much longer? And the wines by the glass are awful. Up your game please! Might have ordered a bottle but were never given the list. Oh and the music blaring over the speakers outside? And so not “let’s enjoy a nice dinner outside on a Saturday night” music. It was like high tempo pop. Ugh. I guess this is why we usually order takeaway.
