Although able to book on Open Table the only people in the Flaming Cow were builders. It is closed and is being refurbished! Why is a restaurant that is closed still taking bookings on Open Table?

I went with my family (two children and two adults) for lunch on Sunday. I have ordered takeaway before so I was looking forward to it. We were put in quite a dark corner and service at firsr was okay. When the food came, the problems started. One of my daughters had ordered a burger without cheese and it arrived with cheese so that had to go back and she was left waiting for a replacement. She also ordered coleslaw and what came was inedible - there was no mayo and it looked like carrot swimming in vinegar. My husband queried with server what it was and if coleslaw but server disinterested. Next my second daughter's food came, which was macaroni cheese and chicken tenders. They were both completely burnt (mostly black) and dry. At this point, my husband decided to go and talk to the manager. who was not interested in the burnt food or replacing or offering any recompense for inedible food. What disappointing service and disinterested staff. We will save our money (around £75!) for somewhere which has food that can be eaten and better customer service.

Lovely when we first arrived, food came quickly. Burgers were dry, bun was slightly hard. Service then went down. We didn't get asked for any additional drinks or desserts and we had to ask for the bill as none of the staff were paying attention. When we got the bill we divided and paid separate, we were then told we had to pay the "optional" service charge on the bill. The waiter wouldn't leave until we paid it. As we weren't happy with the service we didn't want to pay but were forced.

The food as always top notch - I’d argue it’s fair to say that the best chicken wings are at Flaming Cow. The service was a little slow upon ordering food but otherwise kind service. The toilets are definitely in need of some tlc. It’s dirty in there and not well maintained. Please do sort it out as detracts from the overall experience.

Burgers are good everything else was bland. We ordered pizza fry’s, chicken tenders, ribs and mixed wings and all tasted like they had been pulled out the freezer and chucked in a fryer. Tasted of nothing and just very average. Service Was fairly non existent which is amazing for a tiny restaurant.

Good tasty burgers without being greasy, lots of topping choices, attentive service, epic milkshakes. Nice to find an independent gem like this.
