The culinary team prepares whimsical interpretations of traditional comfort food and a carefully curated boutique bar program rounds out the River and Woods experience. With incredible weekend brunches, fun daily happy hour specials, live music, outdoor dining and an emphasis in local farm partners, and sustainable sourcing, River and Woods has been elevating comfort food since 2016! The restaurant was founded in 2023 by owner Stella Spanu, a Boulder local. Honoring her Italian heritage and embracing her passion for food and hospitality, Spanu’s philosophy is to have a dining experience that stimulates all senses by incorporating visual art, design, music, premier service, comfortable seating and fresh, authentic Italian cuisine. The space, an Art Deco inspiration, was conceptualized and built by architect Miguel Quismondo.Stella's is showcasing a world-class menu, highlighting traditions from all over Italy, with house-made pastas with imported ingredients directly from Italy, and locally sourced ingredients from Colorado farms. Le Black Cat Farm Table Bistro sert une cuisine de la ferme à la table, à base d'ingrédients tout juste cueillis dans sa propre exploitation agricole de 52 hectares. Au fils des jours, le chef-agriculteur Eric Skokan prend soin des légumes de ses champs. Chaque soir, on, le retrouve dans la cuisine à confectionner les plats de son menu variant tous les jours.
