In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. Excellent food, service and decor. Huge portions - big enough to share. Music was a bit too hip and could have been lower but a great vibe overall. Recommend - especially for special occasions.

The place gets crowded, but the staff are great with the customers. The food is always on point. I’ve been there several times and I haven’t had a meal or drink that I didn’t like. Awesome customer service love it. Would definitely go back again and again
