Thomas Makris, de l'île de Skopelos, est tombé amoureux lorsqu'il a rencontré Helen Babalos. Ils se sont rencontrés au Orestes Greek restaurant en 1974, lors d'une tournée de danse grecque en Amérique du Nord.
