The Yellow House Bar and Kitchen in south London’s Surrey Quays near the shopping centre is a big, warm hug of a local bar and restaurant. The owner is on site and usually in the kitchen preparing one of three menus on offer: the restaurant menu, the grill menu and the pizza menu. The Yellow House had an earlier incarnation in Plough Way, but has moved to more intimate premises with a slick, post-Industrial vibe when it comes to décor, but still the same perfectionist’s attention to detail, relaxed ambience, warm welcome and passion about the food on the plate. Locals love this place. The Yellow House European cuisine offers dependable classics like grilled Scottish beef burger on ciabatta with hand-cut chips, thin-crust pizzas from the wood-fired pizza oven, and seared snapper with basil mash, minestrone and rouille. Lovely staff and unbelievably good food. The hummus is a fab starter, and we all had the mushroom pie which was delicious. Oh, and excellent cocktails. Do go, even if you aren't vegan, you will love it.

Superb food, great staff and excellent value. The arrival for a 6.45pm booking was a bit chaotic with lots of us having to queue & wait outside, but once inside service was restored. Food is wonderfully tasty & interesting.

Enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. Food is expensive, however the vegetarian cabbage dish was surprisingly yummy. There were only two vegetarian mains and one was not available. It was a bit too cold and the music was a bit too loud for us (although the music itself was enjoyable). If we went again we would perhaps try and sit closer to the fire or further from the back doors.

Literally the best Mexican food I have ever eaten! First time trying birria tacos and it has changed the game! So so so yummy! Can't wait to go back and indulge myself with mezcal cocktails 😊
