Situated in the historic village of Aylesford, The Hengist is a modern restaurant and bar, a short walk from the river's edge.The 16th Century building stands with original features, offering a perfect balance of elegance, heritage and modernity all surrounded by manicured gardens. The Hengist offers a range of dining options including a casual dining option on the ground floor and two more formal dining rooms upstairs along with outside terrace dining in our gardens. We offer seasonal 'a la carte and 'set' menus along with a 'Sunday lunch' menu. All of our dishes are freshly made to order with locally sourced ingredients.
The Loose Chequers is a former 17th century coaching inn. We serve classic pub food and fantastic steaks from our local butcher. Every Friday we have live music in the evening from 8pm. Our range of menus means we can cater for large bookings of over 100 and we regularly do events of this nature.
Open Tuesday night to Sunday with food served all day from noon.We now have 3 Giant heated Tipis, they provide lots of fresh air and a lovely open environment, they are also heated.Formerly an 18th Century farmhouse boasting exposed beams, oak floors, exposed brickwork and oak tables.
