A slow restaurant in a fast-moving city, FUMI is a place where flavours, service and interiors are harmonious.A simple Japanese inspired menu driven by the seasons, our moods and by whatever is fresh and exciting in the moment. Think lavish three-course Indian feasts, killer craft beers from local Sussex breweries and spiced cocktails – all set in a cosy, colourful, independently run venue near Brighton beach, which has been listed as a 'local gem' in every edition of the Good Food Guide since 2014. Featuring a 70-seat, split-level dining space, the restaurant is decked out with exposed brick walls, wooden tables and vintage Indian design touches. Curry Leaf Cafe's culinary heart lies in South India, focusing on fragrant curries, crisp-fried street food and chargrilled tandoor dishes, all served 'sharing style' for the table to enjoy. Around half the menu is vegan, and there's a wide range of gluten-free dishes on offer. While the flavours are authentic, you'll find a few contemporary twists – including a range of loaded naans at lunchtime, sold alongside the always popular thali platters (now available until 6:30pm daily).This is Indian cafe culture, Brighton style.

In 1976 Michael Garman returned to Brighton and opened IL Bistroafter being inspired by the Italian and French culture and cuisineduring his travels to the Provence and the western coast of Italy.His goal was to open Brighton’s first Mediterranean steakhouse.For the first time, Brightonians were able to order fresh pasta,arancini, dry aged beef, tiramisu and negronis.47 years later and now being operated by Michael's son Abe,IL Bistro still stands by the same principles, using local suppliersand produce, fresh ingredients and the best available dryaged British beef. Black Mocha is a modern independently run cafe by locals Heather and Paul Smith in the bustling bohemian North Laine area of Brighton offering locally roasted single origin coffee, brunch, sandwiches and snacks, gluten free bakes and vegan raw cakes. The Blind Busker takes its name from a local man ‘Blind Harry Vowles’ who frequented the pub back in 1900’s, he and others were often seen playing accordion’s and other musical instruments beneath the Angel of Peace statue; these folk were known as the ‘Brighton Characters’We have a beautiful garden and an area for functions, not to mention our projector for all the big sporting events.
