Based in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, we’re a family run destination for everyone to visit, for occasions large and small.Our experienced head chef has now taken centre stage in our new restaurant, which is now open to the public throughout the week. It's modern design and informal atmosphere is complimented by seasonal menus with locally sourced produce. The Pelican Inn is a quaint, late 17th century pub with a warm, cosy atmosphere along with eight comfortable bedrooms and a friendly welcome guaranteed. We're proud to offer great food and real ales in our spacious bar and restaurant areas, as well as ensuite accommodation - all at superb value. We're also just 8 miles from junction 14 of the M4, making our pub the perfect meeting place for work or simply a relaxing spot to watch the ducks, read the newspaper and watch the world go by.

    Beautiful setting - afternoon tea in front if an open fire. Staff were extremely courteous and attentive. The free chocolates for the birthday guest was a lovely touch! And there was unlimited tea. The standard scones were deliscious and the clotted cream to die for. Disappointing the jam was in jars not a dish, there was no butter and the birthday girl's gluten free scone was more like a biscuit than a scone - too thin and shattered when split. The cakes were OK but nothing special - carrot cake and chocolate brownies pretty basic, and for £85 for three I was expecting something a bit more special - maybe at least one cream cake. The gf sandwiches were too dry to eat. Overall a lovely afternoon sipping tea in front of the fire, but turned out to be not the best birthday treat for someone who's gluten free.

    We’ve been dining for 3 nights at the Holt hotel and every time it was delicious and the service 10 out 10, a bit expensive but everything is I guess these days. Highly recommend the restaurant and the hotel! 🥰

    We had a Sunday buffet lunch at the Holt as a second wedding anniversary celebration. The staff were lovely, those around 2 years ago remembering us which was lovely. It was probably the best buffet I have had. The range of veg was excellent. Thank you Holt.
