We are a country Gastropub owned by farmers. Our farm supplies the beef, lamb and pork and we source other ingredients from local producers where we can. Our small seasonal menu changes regularly reflecting what is available in our area. We pride ourselves on being very much a country pub, offering freshly prepared seasonal food and a warm welcome. We also love offering locally produced drinks, such as gins, rums, ales and wines, giving you the complete taste of Sussex. Our weekend menu is our delicious Asado Grill. A slightly reduced but very tasty BBQ menu, where everything is cooked on our outdoor grill. We advise to book in as we get very busy!
The White Hart Wadhurst is an award winning pub with rooms set in the beautiful village of Wadhurst, around 10 minutes from Tunbridge Wells and a 50 minute train journey from London and right next to Bewl Water. Our food is as local as it can be and is a mix of small plates, great charcuterie, local cheeses, pub classics and more refined dishes. We run weekly offers, Monday is Locals NIght where you can enjoy two courses for £16, Tuesday is Steak Night with two steaks and a bottle of wine for £35 and finally Wednesdays fish and chips is £12.50. Sunday is all about our roast dinners, all served with traditional trimmings and jus, vegan and vegetarian available on request. We have a great selection of spirits, beers including Harveys and a extensive wine list. We love our English wines and currently have one of if not the biggest English Wine List in the UK, currently standing at 165 wines from all over the country. Callenders is a modern , casual style dining bistro. From a romantic meal for two, to a celebration dinner for forty. The best of local produce cooked to order for you. The surroundings are relaxed and easy going. Large potted plants occupy the free spaces and original water-colours by local artists hang on the walls. Table tops are bare and minimalist set with condiments, cutlery and fresh cut flower stems. Old dishes make a fresh return, and modern classics like Thai-Style Chicken sit comfortably along-side Braised Beef Cheeks with roast potatoes and gravy.Steaks are good too and a full Char-grill section on the menu features locally shot Venison and a selection of beef cuts; T bone, Fillet and Sirloin. As you would expect all desserts and pastries are made in house, with a definite focus on classic British desserts, steamed Treacle Sponge, Crème Brule, Apple Tart, Queen of Puddings and a really beautiful creamed rice dessert served with a mango sorbet are often on the menu.
