The Shanty's building was reconstructed in 2010 with reclaimed barn wood from the area. The restaurant was also featured on the hit show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, as well as numerous other outlets, such as Food Network's "Let's Dish", NBC's "Around Town" and ABC's "Windy City". With an continuously evolving menu of customer-inspired dishes, The Shanty aims to please their guests. A top favorite is the whiskey shrimp appetizer, which includes fresh jumbo shrimp in The Shanty's signature Jack Daniels cream sauce. Another hit is the tequila and orange grilled salmon.
