Tavern est le troisième restaurant du duo du chef Suzanne Goin et de la sommelière Caroline Styne, qui possède également un restaurant Lucques et un bar à vin AOC. Ceci est leur avant-poste de l'ouest de Los Angeles, qui sert de fief local pour les habitants de Brentwood.
