As soon as Amy Chanta flung open the doors in 1989 Chat Thai became an instant smash hit with Sydney diners already familiar with Thailand and no appetite for compromising on ingredients, flavours, textures and aromas. Searching all across Sydney for the correct vegetables, herbs and sauces Amy was able to set herself apart through a stubborn dedication to reminding diners of their unforgettable food experiences on the streets of Bangkok.Three decades later we are proud to continue Amy’s vision by adding organic vegetables from Boon Luck Farm to serve up authentic Thai dishes we ourselves want to eat. Unique flavours the Thai diaspora crave from the motherland but struggle to find outside of their own home cooking.

We've since added restaurants in Circular Quay, Westfield Sydney, Neutral Bay, Chatswood and Galeries Victoria, and in 2015 we added organic, fresh produce from our farm in Byron Bay. Influenced by the culture of sip-a-little-bit-of-this-and-eat-a-little-bit-of-that, Tapavino began in August 2012 as Australia’s first Sherry Bar in Sydney, in a little lane-way not unlike something you would find in the cobblestoned alleyways of Spain. Helped by the beautiful warm vibe that greets you as you step inside and take a seat among floor-to-ceiling wine bottles, Tapavino was named runner-up in Sydney Morning Herald's 'Best New Bar' Awards within 4-months of opening. 12-months later we were named 'Best Bar with Food'.

    The food,surroundings and service was excellent. Our waiter Francois really looked after us with excellent interpretation of the menu and the sommelier was equally as informative. I can recommend the veal. We will definitely be back very soon.

    It was my first time at Yakitori Yurripi and I was amazed by how authentic and delicious the food was. We particularly enjoyed the Miso Cod and Pork Belly - both were sensational! Service was quick and friendly, and the ambience reminds me of an izakaya straight out of Japan. The only thing was that we felt 1.5 hours was a bit short for a booking, however the food is great and we will definitely be back.

    Thai food with a twist. Great food that was a little different. We were well looked after by the staff and the service was efficient. The Lara was amazing and the green chicken curry was the best I’ve ever tasted. Thank you. We’ll be back.

    The food was delicious but the serving size of some of the dishes could have been bigger. We ordered the crispy pork but there wasn't many pieces of pork. The ambience of the place is really nice and good for groups.

    Great, and very popular, local cafe in Chatswood - pretty much the best cafe in the area. Good food, and very friendly service.
