As soon as Amy Chanta flung open the doors in 1989 Chat Thai became an instant smash hit with Sydney diners already familiar with Thailand and no appetite for compromising on ingredients, flavours, textures and aromas. Searching all across Sydney for the correct vegetables, herbs and sauces Amy was able to set herself apart through a stubborn dedication to reminding diners of their unforgettable food experiences on the streets of Bangkok.Three decades later we are proud to continue Amy’s vision by adding organic vegetables from Boon Luck Farm to serve up authentic Thai dishes we ourselves want to eat. Unique flavours the Thai diaspora crave from the motherland but struggle to find outside of their own home cooking.

Our sourdough pizzas uphold the tradition of Neapolitan Pizza. Our bases are naturally leavened using Caputo flour, imported from Italy, and allowed to prove for 24-48 hours. We use D.O.P. San Marzano tomato for all red pizza bases. Our Fior Di Latte (fresh cows milk mozzarella), Buffalo mozzarella, Ricotta and Burrata cheeses are sourced from premium local manufacturers. Our selection of Salumi (cured meats) are from local producers unless otherwise specified. We hand-make our own pork sausages, preserved tomatoes and pickled vegetables.

The food was delicious but the serving size of some of the dishes could have been bigger. We ordered the crispy pork but there wasn't many pieces of pork. The ambience of the place is really nice and good for groups.

The staff at Karoo are excellent. Once again we had a delicious meal. Their Salt & Pepper Squid with Garlic Aioli as an entree was perfect and the Cuban Pizza was delicious. Pancetta, Prawns and Pineapple. Interesting combination, but always delicious.

The pizza and meatballs were lovely as usual but must congratulate the waitress for her exceptional service last Saturday night. We were up front and she went about her duties efficiently and with a smile on her face. Very busy with people just turning up and having that to deal with as well. She is definitely a keeper. Food is consistently delicious here. They really need to replace there chairs they are in a very dilapidated state and it is quite off putting.
