Chef Sebby Holmes launched Farang back in 2016 after trading at street food markets throughout London. A year later he took up temporary residency in Farang's current home in Highbury & Islington. After excellent reviews, he took on the space permanently after his step-father retired and since, has gone from strength to strength. Farang was recently inducted into the National Restaurant Awards top 100 and awarded a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand, which we have kept four years running. We also received the Thai select award from the UK Thai Embassy which certifies authenticity and the freshness of our ingredients.We’re a young team of enthusiastic individuals, who over the last few years have bought our passion and skills to the table. Tired of the loosely French inspired humdrum of restaurants popping up across the city of London? Do you like holidays? Do you like cold drinks and warm service? If you've answered yes to one or more of these then perhaps Tollington's can refresh both your pallet and your mind. The idea came from a mirror in an antiques market and a love for a more informal approach to dining, the result is a chippy in North London with old church pews bolted to the walls to be leaned on and eaten from. The focus is on fish but the menu transcends fish, mammals and vegetables, leaving no stone unturned in the never ending quest for flavour. Split between two rooms, the front the engine, the kitchen and bar shared by customers as they perch on bar stools and enjoy dinner and a show. Llerena takes its name from a little village in Extremadura, southwest Spain, where four generations of our family has raised Iberian pigs since 1939, producing authentic "Bellota" jamón ibérico, chorizo and other pork delicacies. Our family created a business around the farm called Jamón y Salud to sell our gourmet products and has now brought this exquisite taste of Spain to Islington with the Llerena Ibérico Tapas Bar. Not only can you sample ibérico pork grilled meats and finest jamón, but also creamy Torta del Casar cheese and other traditional Extremadura's delights as well as the best wine from our region.
