We have gone to dinner many times since opening and this summer it seems that each time, we go, there are things creeping downward from great to good or OK. An appetizer that was excellent last month it is now not cooked the same and not as good. A drink has the wrong garnish. A salad comes with the meal instead of before. The dinner comes with sauce on the meal when asked on the side. Main meal is not fully cooked. These things are popping up more consistently.

I visit this restaurant frequently and typically I am very pleased with my food and overall experience but this visit was an exception. I ordered the blackened salmon with roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables. The salmon was burnt so after taking a bite I called the waitress over and told her that. She took the plate and wanted to give me the sides to eat but I said that I wanted to get the meal all at once. When she brought me back my dinner, the salmon was cooked fine and not burnt however my sides were lukewarm because they did not make them fresh. When I told her this she brought me new sides of vegetables and mashed potatoes. She apologized and said they could make the roasted potatoes fresh because they take too long to cook. I was so disappointed not only because I ate what I didn't want but to have to eat my meal alone after returning my food because it was over cooked. My boyfriend enjoyed his food but ate alone also. I will visit again because I usually have a good dining experience. There was also a table with three people at the high top and the old man was allowed to smoke a cigarette by our waitress after asking her. If it wasn't for the fact that the air brought the smoke away from our table, I would have immediately complained to the manager. It was a disgrace that an employee gave the customer permission to light and smoke a cigarette when it is not allowed in any restaurant even if it is on a deck. I expect better from this establishment.

The food portion of our dinner was very good, however, our drink selections were not of the caliber we have come to expect from Fathom's based on previous experiences.
