Le Fang est le restaurant partenaire du restaurant très populaire House of Nanking. Il sert une cuisine chinoise à la fois moderne et authentique dans un cadre raffiné, avec des spécialités traditionnelles, des dimsums ainsi que des plats « hors menu » innovants pour les plus aventureux. Le chef Peter Fang estime que la bonne nourriture est universelle et ne doit pas être limitée par la façon dont on cuisinait les plats autrefois. The main dining room can accommodate up 80 seated guests, has standing room of 100, a full bar, and a full open kitchen.The second dining room has a full open kitchen and two semi-private rooms, which seat 110 guests. The entire restaurant, both main and second dining room combined, seats up to 200 guests.

Fang is one of the best restaurants in San Francisco. Go there, ignore the menu, and have them just bring you out food until you can’t eat anymore. You will be very happy.

We ate lunch on Sunday after a visit to MOMA for our anniversary. I looked up Hunan restaurants open on Sunday nearby and came upon Fangs. When we first sat down and poured some water, I noticed that the container was very sticky. Then I noticed that the bottom of the container was green. We were sitting near the window during the day and may not have noticed the green if we weren't. This wasn't a great way to start off a meal. We ordered soda and notified the waiter at the end of our meal about the water and they saw it and apologized. I ordered one of the short rib dishes. The sauce was wonderful and loved the bok choy but over half of the extremely small cubes of beef were all coating and fat. The dish is quite expensive and I was pretty disappointed.

Cibo ottimo. Piatti abbondanti. Servizio e atmosfera ok. Ci hanno invitato ad uscire alle 21 perchè chiudeva.

We ordered Mongolian Beef Short Ribs, Sesame Chicken with Sweet Potato and Lotus Chicken. We enjoyed all three. We also ordered the House Fried Rice which is an experience watching them make it table-side but we would have preferred just white rice instead. We made reservations but probably didn’t need them at 7:00 on a weeknight. There was no rushing to get us to vacate our table so we were able to stay and talk after eating.

Second visit to Fang! Excellent both times. My favorite item is the pork belly bao buns!! Still thinking about them the next morning. Our friends said it was the food they had ever had!!! Try it, you won’t be disappointed!

We were celebrating my son’s birthday and everything was lovely! We started with the Jasmine tea where the flower opens from a tight ball when it heats up. We had two tasty appetizers, a noodle dish, prawns with apples, a pork spare ribs dish and a chicken dish. All were flavorful with the right amount of spice a such wonderful creativity. They brought him sesame balls stuffed with red beans with a candle and they were delightful. A wonderful meal and terrific celebration!

The food was fantastic. We had chicken, green beans and ginger - very flavorful. Then some sort of apple shrimp which seemed similar to honey walnut shrimp - also very good. As for our starch, we had chicken fried rice and forgot to order w/out egg (my friend hates egg) so I got to eat it all and it was verrrry goood!!
