L'Emmer & Rye vous propose une cuisine rustique et inspirée des saisons dans le quartier historique de Rainey Street, à Austin, dans l’État du Texas. Premier restaurant américain contemporain de la ville à servir des dim sum dans le cadre de ses repas, il vous permet de les commander directement de chariots ambulants, à partir d'un menu tournant hebdomadaire utilisant des ingrédients locaux de la ferme à la table. Grâce à un moulin, l'Emmer & Rye fait moudre le grain frais du pays tous les jours pour fabriquer son pain, ses pâtes et son dessert. En plus du service de souper, le restaurant est ouvert pour le déjeuner-dîner le week-end et propose des spécialités en fin de soirée le jeudi, vendredi et samedi.

Join us as we “break bread” with celebrated chefs from Austin. Our next guest chef is Eli Rodriguez of Bufalina. He will be serving up some special, one-night-only dishes alongside our standard dinner menu. No preset menu or payment required in advance.

Celebrate New Years Eve at Emmer and Rye! We will feature a 6-course, shared menu (priced at $150pp) that pays homage to the bounty of Texas. Wine pairings (priced at $90pp) and supplements will be available to spark your night. All checks will include a gratuity of 20%. If you need to modify or cancel your reservation, please let us know as soon as possible. Less than 24 hour notice may result in a $50 cancellation fee per person. My only complaint was that we had an 8:30 reservation and they were slammed and running behind, so we were seated at 9. That said, they comped us a round of drinks for our patience and from the moment we sat down everything was impeccable. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, generous, and funny. The food was SO GOOD. I look forward to coming back, but who knows how hard it will be to get in going forward now that they have Michelin recognition!! Congrats on a beautiful job, Emmer & Rye!

Fantastic food. Great ambence. Service was ok, a little slow and not very enthusiastic. Good value for the money. Overall very good!

We had a delightful dinner . The menu was creative and unique. We especially enjoyed the bread presentation .

Unfortunately the service we have received was lacking to meet basic standards. We never received water until we asked 3 times. Wine was served after our courses was served. The waitress didn’t know the menu and was unable to answer questions on the menu. Unfortunate experience, we were quite excited to try the food as we heard it was quite good. To be honest the food was good. Nothing out the ordinary

Dined on the patio for a birthday celebration. Small restaurant and menu but the flavors were robust! Ordered six dishes and all of them were very unique, with few ingredients. My wife and I were blown away by how much flavor came from so few ingredients on the plate. And the service was top notch! It felt like we were attended to by every staff member… and on a Wednesday night! No short comings from Emmer & Rey. Highly recommend!

Where to begin? Leon was an absolute beauty. After an in-depth walk through of the menu, he made a couple perfect cocktails to start the evening off. Following his recomendations for some of his favorites, we picked the Johnny cakes, Cacio de Pepe, and the Carnitas. If you do anything in Austin, go and get the Johnny cakes at Emmer and Rye. They are beyond good food, they are an experience. The cheese foam is next level. The Cacio de Pepe had a lot to live up to, and it did. The Carnitas were wonderfully complex, do not sleep on that dish either, it is multidimensional. Overall experience was an 11/10, highly recommended, can’t wait to be back.

My friend and I had high hopes for this farm to table meal but were disappointed in the plates we were served. From the cheese-flavored butter that accompanied the sourdough bread to the sweet potato 'tamals' to the gnocchietta, everything seemed to be trying too hard. The cucumber salad was a mess on the plate, piled unattractively. The johnnycakes had the flavor of corn but none of the texture we expected. Underwhelming. We won't be returning.

Our recent visit to Emmer & Rye didn’t live up to expectations. We sampled six dishes, none of which stood out, with each plate feeling overly complex yet underwhelming. Every interaction with the staff was friendly, though service lacked polish, with warm white wine served without proper chilling and a noisy ambiance that made conversation challenging. The food’s excessive embellishments often detracted from the flavors—oysters, for example, would have been better served with traditional condiments, while the bread service and other dishes felt overly intricate without reason. Given the $250-$300 price range for two, there are better options in Austin where quality and value align. We won’t be returning.

Waiter took 10 minutes to arrive initially. Drinks took another 15 ish minutes. Manager noticed that outside was understaffed and stepped in to speed things along. Our Dallas friends (who are much more accustomed to attentive service) were appalled. Didn’t bother my wife & I as much since this is not an uncommon experience at upscale Austin establishments. Likely a combo of a tough labor market and more relaxed culture.
