We sat at the bar and Josh provided excellent customer service. However, I had to ask for a steak knife and the person that got me one seemed like he was doing me a big favor.

They are among the best of Denver. Thanks Daniel Sea Bass, porterhouse and lobster tail were amazing!

With the exception of the saxophone player whose presence did not add to the ambiance as background music (rather, it was loud and made dinner conversation very difficult) the restaurant was excellent. My suggestion would be to leave loud live music out of the experience.

Elway’s absolutely missed the mark ! The restaurant is beautiful and service was outstanding. Unfortunately the ribeye was undercooked and fatty. The potatoes au gratin and the cauliflower were bland.

The place was understaffed. It took 45 minutes to get drinks and a piece of bread. Not the fault of the server, she had multiple tables and a large party to deal with. The mgmt should have stepped up, rolled up their sleeves and took care of the clientele better. We were there just under 3 hours for dinner after being seated at 7:45pm. Hardly the major rush…food was good but didn’t blow me away. Will I try it again? Perhaps just to see if it was a bad day or a bad GM…

Reserved a table for one, and was given a 90 minute time limit. It’s not unreasonable, I think, to expect any table to turn over in a reasonable amount of time. But I’ve never been explicitly given a time limit before, not the most welcoming start. The server was kind and professional, but the service was not coordinated. Even as a solo diner, I was ordering a large tab—an appetizer, salad, steak, cocktail, wine with the steak. But they were not paced, and each dish came out before I’d finished the previous. Not a crime, but just unpleasant and ordinary. But, the food was just bad, almost inedible. The medium rare bone in rib eye was charred across the whole surface. Charred=burnt. And, not like, flame-kissed to caramelize a house rub that has brown sugar (which the waiter explained, when I complained), but like, the only flavor in each bite was “burnt meat flavor.” And, the inside was uncooked, not purple, but “black/grey/blood red” isn’t the profile I look for in medium rare. . The loaded baked potato was sad and stale, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours since lunch. Maybe it had—I was dining at 6p….honestly didn’t think there was enough time at dinner service to stock up much “old food” like that potato looked and tasted. So disappointed. Strongly advise to go anywhere else if looking for fine or even just very nice dining in Denver.

Rack of lamb was amazing. My wife had the sirloin and it was cooked perfectly. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal.

The food was mid at best. You expect high quality steaks and fish when you go to a restaurant like Elways. We had the crab cake and the shrimp cocktail for apps and they were very good. The bone in ribeye was very tough even though it was ordered medium at our servers recommendation. The salmon had very little flavor. The service was great and quick and everyone was friendly. While we were eating we really enjoyed the saxophone player there, he was so good! Halfway through dinner the smoke alarm went off and it was extremely loud and annoying. The staff said it does it alll the time because of the apartments upstairs which I understand but at the same time when you’re expectations are nice quiet meal with your wife and it’s the exact opposite it really doesn’t set well. Over sell under deliver would be a good headline for this review.
