    Fun,, lively place with excellent, friendly service. Nice cocktails. Food was yummy but portions are very small so definitely order some apps snd sides. Great experience, will definitely go back. Multiple vegetarian options.

    Typical overpriced Mexican food with measly portion control. Steak tacos were lukewarm. Margaritas were good though and service was very attentive

    This is a restaurant designed for a good time with friends when food isn't really the issue. The room is boisterous and festive. People are definitely having a good time. The margaritas are ghastly - they taste like they come from a mix. They use fresh squeezed limes, but the orange nectar makes them take like melted popsicles, use triple sec for heavens sake. I switched to the La Paloma which was better. The tequila list is impressive, however. The guacamole was serviceable. I prefer a little more heat but that is a personal preference. The chips were good. The Enchilada Mixtas were oversauced, fillings were bland, the mole had no character, the red sauce was meh. The black bean enchilada was the best of the three. One of my dining partners had a steak quesadilla which he really enjoyed but commented that it was really just meat and cheese and nothing special. The shrimp tacos were average, and the refried beans were too dry with no taste. The service was efficient and pleasant. If you want good Mexican food, go to south 9th Street. If you're looking to party with friends with little regard to cost or authentic food, El Vez may be the place to go. I didn't hate it, but I don't understand why it's so popular.

    Consistently the best and hippest restaurant serving Mexican food in Philadelphia. It’s one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in the city. Jen was an exceptional server even though the restaurant was super busy at capacity during the holiday weekend.

    EL Vez is great as a late afternoon spot. The blood orange frozen margarita is to die for. We always get guacamole and nachos with chicken. It’s such a great place to kick back. I won’t go any later because the noise is deafening and you’re screaming at your table mates. The service can be a little slow but I’ll keep going as long as they don’t get rid of those margaritas

    Eaten there many many times over the years but we won’t be going back. The guacamole was excellent but the other things total waste of money. Ordered chorizo nachos, was barely room temperature and absolutely no flavor. Pico de gallo also tasteless. The chicken enchiladas were terrible. Very very disappointed. 2 ginger ales plus tip was $88 for lunch. Btw, IF it was good I would pay double but this was Taco Bell bad!
