I preface this review by saying I have a lot of food allergies (gluten, dairy, soy, corn & egg) and know I run the gauntlet by eating out. I always look at the menu before hand and call ahead to check on the oil they use in the kitchen (soybean oil seems to be the oil of choice in a lot of Mexican restaurants) before making a reservation. I was super impressed that our server arrived at the table having memorized my allergies from my Open Table profile. Sorting through the menu and my various menu hacks, we agreed on a ceviche and fajitas (without the tortillas or cream). All good. Except that the ceviche arrived with shredded purple corn chips on the top which (due to the atmospheric lighting), I didn’t realise until I ate one. Then the fajitas arrived with rice that had kernels of corn blended into it. I asked three times about the refried beans having flour/cornflour in them but was assured they didn’t. I’ve had a really, really rough night and am still suffering this morning so I know there were multiple contaminates. I think the breakdown in communication was probably in the kitchen but either way, I offer this only as a warning to anyone with severe food allergies. Even though they charged me for the ceviche I couldn’t eat, I do not want to take away from the fact that my husband said his food was delicious, the service was excellent, the atmosphere fun and at least at the front end, they seemed concerned about the allergens.

Best spicy mango margaritas and carne asada in the DMV and let’s talk about the corn cheesecake 😋 so delicious. Staff and costumer service on point.

Took my parents out for their first bottomless brunch which has a 2 hour time limit and it took 20 minutes just to receive water. After that, we had asked for the food items to come out as they recommended since it was our first time and we only got a few dishes which were the appetizers like salad, tuna, and the fruit. We waited about an hour to receive the next food items and it seemed like our food was never coming. Tables that were seated way after us were getting a bunch of their food so that was very upsetting as we were trying to be patient. It was hard to get any of the waiters attentions and they didn’t seem to care. We decided to cancel and leave because at this point we didn’t even want to be there anymore. We spoke to the manager and let him know we wanted to pay for the few dishes we received and leave. The manager was understanding and accommodating but the whole experience ruined our appetite so we left.

We went to el Centro for brunch to try their bottomless brunch special. We have been there before for bottomless brunch but it was 3-4 years ago, and the quality has declined. the food was underwhelming, including a whole course that was several styles of hot dogs, including actually just hot dogs on a hot dog bun with some sauce. the service was also slow, our waitress was having a good time hanging out and chatting with the other male employees. we love a good bottomless brunch but i dont think we'll be back.

Server was wonderful. Chips and salsa were wonderful. All the steak was tough this time, but everything else was good. The table was very noisy, but it was a Friday night.
