L'El Catrin a ouvert pendant l'été 2014 au cœur du quartier de Distillery District. Orné d'une superbe décoration murale peinte à la main de 51 x 152 cm et proposant l'une de plus belles terrasses et l'une des meilleures listes de cocktails de la ville, cet authentique restaurant mexicain à l'ambiance animée et au personnel sympathique est assuré d'être un succès. Le chef Le Calvez, qui a quitté Mexico, adore proposer aux habitants de Toronto ses saveurs fraîches typiques de la célèbre cuisine de son pays natal.

    The restaurant was very busy and seemed like the waiter had a lot of tables to deal with and to keep on top of. Some more support staff for pouring water and clearing dishes would’ve been appreciated.

    Over priced for the mediocre food… sorry one pays only for the location. Nothing authentic or price matches the food unfortunately

    The food was excellent and their margaritas are incredible, my wife and I split a flight to them and I’d highly recommend it. They still have one of the best patios in the city.

    The experience was really just only ok. The location was relatively quiet with half the tables empty, but we still had very slow service. Multiple of our items that we did ordered didn’t arrive, we had to just leave after 1.5 hours of still waiting for our kids meals to come out. The server mentioned they were so busy so the kitchen was unable to keep up with the tables. Too bad, as we were expecting it all to be better.

    We got the tasting menu, which I highly recommend if you're really hungry. The service was above and beyond excellent. I only wish they had options for zero proof cocktails, but the agua fresca was a nice non alcoholic option.
