Located 3 miles from Little Cesar's Arena, Comerica Park, and Ford Field. El Barzon Restaurante has been a staple to the city since 2007, serving both Mexican and Italian Traditional dishes. Chef/Owner Norberto Garita was able to obtain his culinary experience working in Manhattan N.Y. and in the later moved to Michigan where he worked at the famously (now Closed) Ill Posto Ristorante Italiano.

We were seated, ignored for 35 minutes, assured by the manager we would have our drink order taken and then ignored for another 15 minutes. Not a good experience. There are restaurants with better food, better ambience and much better service.

The ambience and service were Great! I was a little disappointed in the calamari this time, but the Rossitto upon my waiter recommendations with mushrooms made up for it. I will be back!

Went with a party of four. My cocktail was wrong that was quickly fixed without mentioned it the waitress caught it. Other party member got the wrong entree. Overall the food was bland. It’s got the price tag of an upscale Italian without the bite.

We arrived at 4:05 and were told the restaurant was closed even though they open at 4:00. The hostess was very rude to us and annoyed that we were on time!

Wish we could have sat outside. Food very good. And we have in the past got a dessert for a birthday person. Didn’t this visit.
