Usually great food and service but I guess last night was an “off” night. Service was a bit slow after the dining room started to fill up. Not personable at all considering I’ve noted in our reservation that we were dining there because of a special occasion. Crab cake was dry and the risotto on the scallop dish was too salty. Steaks were fine but again if paying top dollar for premium grade steaks at least get some nice service to go with it, not just “are you ready to order?” like we are at McDonald’s.

Just like any of the best New York steak houses, but on a low key intimate level in Jersey City. Been entertaining at this establishment for more over 15 years... Edwards is the kind of restaurant from way back when that's still eeks outs it's livelihood in the old brownstone area of Jersey City... Truly a hidden gem.

So cozy it feels like you’re eating in a friend’s home. The food was delicious(my companions ate steaks of various kinds and sizes, I had seared ahi tuna) and the service was prompt and attentive. The noise level was quite low (caveat, it was a Tuesday night so I can’t vouch for weekends) Overall a delightful surprise. Don’t be discouraged when you walk in (to a bar.) The dining room is up a steep flight of stairs. Completely different atmosphere.

The food is good but pricy (prices comparable to delfriscos or highend steakhouses). The aspargus was ok, the creamed spinach was good and the garlic mash was really good. The waiter was very attentive. The restaurant is small but quaint and cozy. Great place for a romantic dinner.

We went to Edward's primarily because it is a steakhouse. The steaks were excellent and prepared exactly as ordered. as was the spinach side order. We would go there again if we're in the area. However, there is room for improvement in some areas: * The food runners "auctioned" the food instead of knowing who ordered what. At this price point one does not expect that. * The chives for the baked potato come mixed with butter rather than just loose and the bacon bits are too large. * The bearnaise sauce was just a warm lump in a small bowl instead of a smooth dipping sauce. * The butter / garlic sauce the escargots was served in was very weak and watery. Service was attentive.

We had excellent service and the quality of food was outstanding. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance and will definitely be returning. We had a variety of entrees and all were delicious.

Food was very good. Loved the quiet ambiance. Steak is up there as one of the best (had the 16 oz NY Sirloin with au poivre sauce)

I went here with a very special person of mine for their birthday .. I made a reservation for 7:15pm & made sure to add that it was my persons birthday . Upon arrival we were seated it was very dim & nice , we were greeted by a nice gentleman and placed ordered. We both ordered a cowboy ribeye medium rare , 1 order of Mac and cheese I had a margarita and my person had red wine with Rockefeller oysters and a French onion soup. We didn’t wait long for any of the food to come out. The appetizers were ok, the steaks were cooked to perfection with a side of blue cheese & their own sauce which was my favorite 🤩 the Mac and cheese was suppose to be a shareable size BUT in my honest opinion it was small portioned & it want good at all . When they gave us our steak they asked if we wanted them to add some salt and pepper , the waiter was walking around with grinders, I said yes my person declined but the waiter didn’t give me pepper . I tried to get his attention twice when he was at the neighboring tables , so I wasn’t able to get my seasons until the manager came by to ask was everything ok . Once we were finished with our food & packed to go he asked for the bill , I waited patiently for them to come out with a cake & sing happy birthday but they didn’t I waited at least 10 min because it was a surprise my person didn’t know I requested that with the reservation… once I realized we weren’t getting it as we were leaving out I took the time to express my disappointment to another staff member. I would’ve thought they at least would’ve been nice enough to offer it to go but no they just said next time as if we don’t get 1 birthday a year …. That one mistake set my mood off for the rest of the night . I definitely won’t come back even tho almost everything else was nice I just felt like they could've been more considerate since we were celebrating a birthday ..

First, they seated us upstairs and had no AC or fans. We had to ask if they had any AC to turn on as we were all sweating there seated. Food was okay, but it’s nothing you can’t get for cheaper somewhere else. We ordered two dishes of the Salmon from the Specials menu, and when they gave us the dish, it was literally just a cup of rice, with a bland salmon, and broccoli. I asked what happened to the butternut squash risotto as stated on their menu, and they said that the menu they had provided us was an old menu. They proceeded to still charge me $40 for each salmon plate that was no longer a “special” anyway. I wouldn’t recommend going here as you can easily find a better restaurant worth the price you’re going to pay.
