Wow, were we ever disappointed. First impression by host was very poor. Looked at us and waited for us to tell him we had a reservation. Then he quite literally waved his hand at us and told us to go upstairs and give them our name. We didn’t know we would be seated outside. Heaters weren’t adequate and they couldn’t accommodate us in their few inside tables. Server took forever to greet us and take drink orders. Told us he wasn’t sure they made skinny margaritas or served tea. Floors were dirty. Table was uneven. By the time he came back for food orders, we were done. Cold and hungry so we left.

I have no words other than this experience should have never happened and was so bad. Jess M was our server and it was obvious she did not desire to be there let alone serve. We never know what anyone is going through so I was very kind and tried to engage her, but she did not appear to have any inclination of desire to do her job. She was not rude, just bored and bothered. I would recommend requesting that you don’t have her serve you if you want to enjoy your experience. She came and asked if we were ready to order with no greeting. I had to ask if there were any specials which she then shared. My brother and nephew both ordered filets, medium, and my husband ordered teryiaki siriloin medium well. The two medium filets arrived beyond well done. I very politely showed her that they were both very well done, immediately. There was zero apology. She asked in a way that showed us we were bothering her, “do you want me to have them remake them?” At that point both my brother and nephew said, “no”, because we didn’t want to wait another 45 minutes. I still emphasized and showed her how well done they were and asked if she could please tell and show the manager so they could see just how bad it was. She said she would, yet no manager ever came over…and that was because she never told a manager, which I assumed was the case but later confirmed with Corey, the manager (after we checked out). My husband’s steak was delivered medium rare - red and bloody - when he ordered it medium well. He didn’t eat it, outside of cutting around the steak to eat the very end pieces. We didn’t say anything to our server since she didn’t care about the two overdone filet and seemed bothered, but she absolutely saw it for herself and didn’t acknowledge it let alone ask about it or apologize. I paid the bill, still tipped 16% (typically I tip 25%), which she didn’t earn. After I paid, I gave feedback to the manager, as I didn’t want it to appear like we wanted something. Shameful experience.

We had a great time at Dukes! The service was excellent and the view exquisite. Ask for a table on the terrace.

Dukes has the best views and ambiance, and such a great price point! Service was friendly, professional and efficient. We had a great time celebrating our daughter's 21st birthday!
