The food (prime kabob)was excellent, the service was attentive but not obtrusive, and the ambiance was superior to any place in LUBBOCK. VERY enjoyable experience

This place is nice, laid back, and good tasting food. However the NY strip was no where as tender and tasty as the price they ask, and the sides were smaller than desired portions. The chocolate cake was not as rich as I had hoped, and I’m certain it was kept in a cooler before being served. Bar staff was friendly, wait staff was ok. My one major disappointment is that this location doesn’t have anyone answering the phone until late in the afternoon. I entertained clients and left something at the table that evening. We were unable to retrieve it before flying out because there wasn’t any way of getting in touch with anyone before 5 pm.

We made a reservation and were seated in the bar area. I didn’t appreciate that as much but the food and service were fabulous!

Wonderfully traditional and charming steakhouse - perfect for a Father's Day celebration! I was blessed to be able to visit my dad for a Father's Day, the first in many years since moving to Australia. I wanted to treat him to a special dinner in Lubbock. Service from beginning to end was outstanding! We were greeted warmly from the kind, enthusiastic hosts and quickly directed to our table. Our server, Chris, was attentive and knowledgeable. He also addressed my reservation note about my vegan dietary preferences without me commenting, even at a traditional steakhouse in Lubbock. Thank you! Other servers were courteous with wine orders. The setting was a bit challenging for my dad - too dim, too loud and distracting at our table near the front door. He was also somewhat disappointed with his filet. There was some confusion as he ordered and was asked questions about his salad, steak, and baked potato. Maybe it was the noise and his preferences for ordering precisely how he likes, which can be slightly off menu. The ending with his cheesecake and our coffee was perfect! I think the service made up for some of the shortcomings to have an overall lovely celebration.

We've been loyal customers for years, and always enjoyed our visits. Tonight was especially good. I think it was the best we have ever experienced at Double Nickel.

We've been coming quite often. The food is consistent. We ordered a 6oz lobster tail each as an appetizer. We prefer butter poached, but DK can only broil the tails. The big issue for us was the wine. We come here for the wine and always order Quintessa and are happy to pay 250$ a bottle. We asked about Quintessa and we were told it was now 500$ a bottle. You must be kidding me. There is no way the cost to DK doubled. Mediocre lobster, our wine doubled,...The funny thing, we ordered a bottle of Far Niente and it was 300$ a bottle. We would have gladly paid 300$ for the Quintessa. I don't think we will be back.
