Traditional afternoon tea returns to Dean Street Townhouse. The full tea for £28 includes sandwiches, cakes, scones and your choice tea or coffee, or £41.50 including a glass of Thienot Champagne. Tea is served in our cosy parlour from Monday to Saturday between 2pm and 5pm. Please note that we do not accept cash.

Good roast Sunday lunch. The beef was well aged and very tasty and tender. Generous accompaniments to the roast . Cauliflower cheese sauce was cheesy but a bit on the thin side, as was the gravy for the beef. Mandarin tart was too cold, pastry became hard and tough with refrigeration. The filling in the tart was a solid, grainy texture, rather than a smooth creme pâtissière one would expect. Service was very good, nice restaurant.

On previous visits, I had a lovely meal. This time was just not good enough. The hostess was helpful in moving to a new table after several mice were running around our first table. The waiter struggled to sort our orders and didn’t think anything through- no butter with the toast, no strainer with the tea, the wrong eggs, leaving us for long periods of time- we sat with finished plates for 30 min in front of us. Very disappointing and would no longer recommend

The best tables should be allocated according to first come first served as long as you’re appropriately dressed, not on the whim of the hostess. There was nothing to indicate that you have to ask for a good table when making the reservation. Quite disappointed where we were seated near a service area, even though we requested to be moved, even though there were plenty of tables still available. Left a bad feeling I won’t be going back. Service was ok a bit slow. Food was nothing memorable.

Dean street was my first high tea experience and it was everything of the sort! I absolutely enjoyed it. I had such a lovely time

Had a high tea with my wife. Plenty of food, including sandwiches, scones with jam & cream and a selection of cakes. A few more black tea options would have been good but the teas we chose were nice. Staff were very friendly without being over the top and the ambience was good and not too noisy.

Incredible tea service. It was our first stop on our trip and it was amazing. Great atmosphere and the staff were impeccable.

The food was decent and service efficient (it was a quiet morning) but the front-of-house was not friendly or warm or welcoming. The whole experience felt a little cold and transactional and slightly depressing. Hope this was just a one-off, I do like DST, but not having been for a while I was surprised.

Pre-theatre dinner, reservation for 5 at 6pm. Plenty of time for a 7:30 show. Did a bunch of small bites and cocktails. Crab toast, scallops, fish fingers(small order of fish and chips), Mac and cheese and two salads. More than enough food for 5. Drinks we made with care and all the food was delicious.
