With a Certificate of Excellence, Das Marktrestaurant (The Market Restaurant) is ranked the third most popular restaurant in its location on TripAdvisor. Serving a fusion of traditional Bavarian and international cuisines, Das Marktrestaurant maintains a historical theme, in honor of having been established in a 17th century cellar. Customers can sample different delicacies, such as pasture ox with lemon purée and vanilla carrots, as well as various types of steak. During the summer months, guests can choose to be seated on its terrace with a view of the Alps. Das Marktrestaurant also organizes live musical events and cooking classes.

I was in “Das Marktrestaurant” for the second time and the two occasions were a delightsome experience: the menu, the service and the location. The next time we’re in the region: Mittenwald, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Seefeld etc..., we will certainly go back again, In French they say “vaut le détour”: it’s worth the detour

A Wonderful Culinary Experience at Das Marktrestaurant From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed by the hostess and guided to a lovely table at the back of the restaurant. The atmosphere was inviting, setting the stage for what turned out to be an unforgettable evening. The food at Das Marktrestaurant is more than just a meal—it’s a journey and an experience. Every dish was carefully crafted, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, making each course a delight to savor. What truly made the evening special was the charm of both the chef and the hostess. Their passion for hospitality and fine dining was evident in everything they did, yet they remained wonderfully down-to-earth, creating a relaxed and enjoyable ambiance. If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience that goes beyond just great food, Das Marktrestaurant is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Die ideenreichen Kombinationen geschmacklich und optisch hervorragend umgesetzt. Modern und lecker aber nicht überzogen, überspannt. Andreas und Nancy führen dieses Restaurant seit Jahren perfekt und so wird es auch bleiben. Hier fühlt man sich gut aufgehoben und kommt gern wieder.

Wir hatten das 3 Gänge Leger Menü, wurden aber dennoch mit zusätzlichen Gängen vor und nach dem Menü überrascht. Sehr angenehme Gastgeber mit exzellenter Küche. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Ein wunderbarer Abend mit einem exzellenten 4-Gänge-Menü! Der „Amuse Bouche“ war ein gelungener Einstieg, gefolgt von zartem Kabeljau mit Flöns – ein Highlight der Zwischengänge. Der Hauptgang, ein perfekt gegartes Stück Hirschfleisch, wurde durch einen vollmundigen Rotwein-Cuvée ideal ergänzt. Zum Dessert rundete eine feine Süßspeise den Abend harmonisch ab. Die Flasche Chardonnay aus der Steiermark begeisterte mit mineralischer Eleganz. Besonders erfreulich: Andreas Hillejan stammt, wie ich selbst auch, aus einem kleinen Dorf am Niederrhein – eine charmante Überraschung! Perfekter Service und Genuss pur – wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wunderbar gegessen. Alle Gänge waren aufeinander abgestimmt - ein Genuss. Es war bereits unser zweiter Besuch. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen wieder. Herzliche Grüße Marina aus Tirol
