Great place attentive friendly service , would go again

On recommendation, we booked for 8pm and were met promptly and politely by the FOH Staff and led upstairs - the room was really pleasant, the staff were attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. Started with a couple of cocktails then the scallops which we shared then the bream and the sole. Both were excellent. We had the Chardonnay from the ‘other wines’ list and it matched perfectly. Finished with asking if they could make a Widow’s Kiss cocktail (they could and it was great) I didn’t know there was a ‘downstairs’ but we were shown it, it looked as relaxing as upstairs. What was funny was my jacket seemed to catch people’s attention - it’s an action-backed tweed sports jacket, if you’re interested! Yeah, we liked it. We will be back.

The Olive Tree is lovely. Great location for walks before or after too - take a left out the front door and walk straight down the lane ahead until you come to the lock then you can double back down the canal. Plenty of other longer walk options form the canal too. Back to the pub review! The staff are always so nice and friendly. The food is delicious and well presented. The ambience is lovely particularly down by the fire. Try the Goan curry and the popcorn shrimp and squid are great nibbly starters. The sandwiches are pretty formidable so make sure you're hungry! All reasonably priced too - 25 quid a head without booze. They also do a jazz night once a month on the second sunday. Get involved people!

We had a lovely meal at The Bull to celebrate our wedding Anniversary! We were impressed with the friendly service, the food choice and the food quality. My husband had his favourite snails followed by a perfectly cooked steak and a dessert from the trolley. I had stuffed mushrooms to start with: I was a little disappointed as I expected less breadcrumbs and more prawns and cheese! My main course was fantastic in taste and quantity: I love veal in wine and mushroom sauce!! The dessert was also a favourite of mine; tiramisu which was light and tasty! We both enjoyed the vegetable side served by the waiter, a nice touch! A very pleasant experience which we will definitely repeat!
