Those familiar with the FatPapa’s name know just what they’re getting. Those that don’t probably know the restaurant doesn’t take itself too seriously. But it does take its burgers seriously. The menu here is extensive and a burger lover’s dream. Australian chuck beef burgers, chicken burgers and even lamb burgers are accompanied by fries, appetisers and other main courses. Why not wash it all down with one of FatPapa’s famous milkshakes? If none of those take your fancy - which is pretty unlikely - then you can even build your own. The chequered floor and Century Square location make for a lively dining experience, which goes hand in hand with the loud menu and food.

Dear diners, please be aware that non-Quandoo vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with online booking. If you wish to use non-Quandoo vouchers, please contact the restaurant directly. It’s not quite on a bay, but it might as well be given the maritime bounty on offer at this restaurant along MacPherson Road. Just a fifteen minute walk from MacPherson station, Crab at Bay Seafood Restaurant is a specialist when it comes to Chinese-style fish and seafood. Every day the kitchen sources Singapore’s freshest seafood, from clams and tiger prawns, to lobster, crabs, squid and an assortment of fish. The signature crab bee hoon is a big hit in the city-state, as is the classic steamed and buttered lobster. Looking for some esoteric Chinese classics? Go for the shark’s fin with crab meat soup, or moving away from seafood, the essence of chicken with frogs’ legs, whatever that is. You’ll just have to book a table and find out for yourself!

Prix : raisonnable
• Pan-asian • Marina Centre
Dear diners, please specify in ‘special request’ if you do not wish to be seated at high tables. Additionally, please note that the kitchen is closed on weekdays from 3pm to 5.30 pm and on weekends from 4pm to 5.30pm. Only drinks and desserts are served during this time. The brainchild of DP Architects and GRUB, redpan has a bit of an edge to it. Singapore is overloaded with places you could say this about: this is funky fusion food in a cool space. But in this case we actually mean it. DP’s experienced eye for design and attention to detail is evident in every little aesthetic feature, while GRUB pull together the best of local Singapore produce and global cooking styles to dish up a range of unique western and Asian fusion dishes. Singapore has no shortage of restaurants, but few (if any) have a formula quite like this one on Raffles Boulevard (in Marina Square), and it’s well worth a try.
