Dear Richmond,This little restaurant is our love letter to food. It's our happy little place, where we get to live the joy of feeding people everyday. We all grew up in spaces that equated food with love, just like this place. Everything we have done here is deliberate, from the art on the walls to the produce we use. We've made a point of sourcing ingredients from some of the best suppliers in the state, making sure that our menu reflects what's in season. For us, this place is about experience: we try our best to make you feel both at home and 'out for something special'. Vatutto is a family run restaurant, Owners Paul and Myrto Recinella moved from their 16 year Institution at Zios East Melbourne to the Ivanhoe location in 2015. A full renovation was completed recently creating a modern yetelegant atmosphere. Vatutto translates from Italian to ‘Everything goes’ the menu here has a diverse flavour selection from all corners of the earth. Produce here is sourced from premium suppliers, and we use sustainable seafood from Australian or New Zealand waters, Wagyu beef from Gippsland, organic eggs, fruit and vegetables, and quality imported cheese, dairy products and flour. Bread is baked daily and all desserts, pastries and ice cream are all made on the premises using quality ingredients.

We arrived at 8:30 on a quiet Sunday night. The staff ensured we had our meals and desserts before the kitchen shut. They really looked after us. Special thanks to Rosie. Food was very good especially the roast of the day. All that quality meat, perfectly cooked for $33 is outstanding value these days.

Excellent atmosphere in the beer garden on a warm night. The food was magnificent, having ordered the pork schnitzel. We'll definitely go again.

A great find - very busy on a Tuesday lunchtime. An extensive menu and although we only had a main course each, it was fresh, well cooked and delicious.
