Koisan Sushi is a Japanese restaurant that has offered creative, fresh, and authentic Japanese cuisine at the heart of orange for 40 years. Illuminated by Japanese style lanterns and the walls adorned with specialized craftsman woodwork, Koisan is a time machine to ancient Japan. Koisan's dining experience can be approached one of two ways. Diners can request the dining room where the kitchen menus such as the Seafood Tokyo Udon Pasta, or the or Miso Black Cod Entrees are available; or request the sushi bar to order sushi and sashimi such as Toro (Bluefin Tuna Belly) or Tai (Sea Bream) a la carte with the help of our skilled chef Ken. The sushi bar is a coveted place for many regular customers, where beginners and pros are welcome alike. Koisan also offers a large selection of alcoholic beverages, specializing in Japanese Beer and Imported Sake - offered during Orange's best Happy Hour.     Tokyo Noir felt like a classy bar more akin to New York than a Long Beach alleyway. Between 5 drinks and 2 appetizers, nothing fell short of expectations, and most exceeded them. The service was intimate and engaging. The ambiance was unique and hard to find in this part of town. I thoroughly enjoyed the small capacity and do not like an overcrowded bar. It was classy and elegant - perfect for a date. I will definitely be coming back (if I can get another reservation, that is).

    Very welcoming and service from the front desk to our waiter was phenomenal. The food was delicious. Every bite was flavorful, and I'm excited to plan my return visit! It's definitely a hidden gem. It's one of the best Japanese restaurants I've ever been to.

    We went to early dinner and had the restaurant basically to ourselves. No need for a reservation, but they sat us in a separate space of our choosing, for our anniversary. The service was fantastic and food was wonderful. We will certainly be back.
