Sullivan’s Quay (pronounced, “Key”) or “Sullie’s Quay,” as it is known locally, is one of the oldest settled parts of my home, County Cork. The word Quay is actually defined: A wharf formed towards the sea or at the side of a harbour for convenience of loading or unloading goods.You will notice our dining room walls adorned with Murals of Architecture from the area of Sullivan’s Quay around the 19th century, when Jack Sullivan, whom the area is named after, patrolled the streets selling beer and wine to the local saloonkeepers.
