The Red Cow Pub & Grill is a landmark family run pub that has been open since 1930. We pride ourselves upon our excellent service and even better grub. The Red Cow is not only recognised in Birmingham, but nationwide with customers coming from all over the country. The Red Cow is one of the few pubs which has lasted over 80 years and is still standing! Our staff are notorious for the friendly service, along with the pub being known for it’s homely atmosphere and pure, authentic Punjabi cuisine. If you’re from around Birmingham you would have heard of The Red Cow in Smethwick, it’s a great place to meet up with family and friends, watch sporting events live, and just have a nice relaxing evening with great food. The kitchen staff prepare the cuisine with such love and care that you can taste it! The authentic Punjabi food is prepared using traditional methods such as cooking in a clay tandoor and preparing the food with organic, traditional Punjabi herbs and spices.

Authentic Persian CuisineOne of the world’s most ancient and refined styles of cooking is the traditional home cooking of Iran. Every detail of the restaurant is all handpicked by the family to represent it’s name, Colbeh (کلبه), which means ‘cottage’ in the Persian language of Farsi. From the kahgel spread walls to the intricately detailed embroidery on the handmade decorations, even down to each of the individual dishes to represent different regions of the country. The family run business strives to bring the perfection of traditional homemade recipes of Iran. Exploding with the main distinctive flavours of Saffron, Tumeric and Parsley, to our guests in the comfort and warmth of a complete replica of a classic Persian cottage.

    Service and food was outstanding and great value for money. My only negative was the music was a bit too loud to have a proper conversation. But this will not stop me or my family from using your establishment in the future.

    Been coming here a couple of few times a year for the last 10 years at least, if we lived closer I’m sure it would be more regular 😊. Service, food and ambience were brilliant. Definitely would recommend and we will definitely be back.

    Me and my partner visited this lovely small restaurant found on hagley road. We ordered fresh apple juice , although for the price one glass came full and the other was just over half the glass so it wasn’t full I would recommend you making sure drinks are topped up properly. We ordered the platter for two and the meat selection was good , the rice portion however was on the small side imo. For two people and the amount of meat we could do with more rice and bread. But overall I would return and order my own dish to try , staff were friendly and attentive and the restaurant was nice. 😊
