Malin is a small neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of Rathdowne Village, Carlton North. Set in an 1880s property on the corner of Curtain and Rathdowne streets, the site has been renovated to honour the heritage of the building. The food menu, developed by Chef Clement Pilatre, samples European cuisine and showcases seasonal produce and frequently changing dishes. The drinks list favours emerging wine producers, while also giving a nod to the classics. Malin aims to deliver engaging service 5 days a week; with dinner served Wednesday to Saturday and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Vous pourrez commencer la soirée avec du champagne et du caviar au bar, pour ensuite progresser vers un steak tartare et des bouteilles de Bourgogne.     This cosy, beautiful cafe did not disappoint. We waited long for our food due to a big group before us. The food was worth the wait! We were given a piece of matcha madeleine for the 'inconvenience'. Lovely service. We will be back.

    Outstanding in every way from the moment you enter. There was clearly a lot of thought behind the restaurant. The room is lovely, tables set with linen. The room feels serene and luxurious. The food is superb, modern French with an Australian accent. Every dish was outstanding. Service is relaxed and friendly. I highly recommend a dinner at Malin. I look forward to a return visit.

    When we visit Melbourne this is our go to restaurant. We love the food, service and ambiance. The food is delicious and service is attentive and ambiance authentic. We have been three time and will continue to return.
