Open until 11pm (with food orders until 10:30pm) and popular for live European football matches, Wilder Mann offers the best of the wurst, as it has easily one of the most impressive German sausage selections in Singapore. Start with mozzarella cheese sticks before attacking a list of juicy classics including bratwurst, bockwurst, schnitzel or currywurst with fries and a lot more served with hearty sides like potato salad or sauerkraut. The delicious German fare goes well beyond sausages though, including special dishes like the pan-fried fish with a white wine sauce, and an amazingly tender pork knuckle that requires 24 hours advance notice (only available on Friday and Saturday) but is well worth the wait, we promise.

La Cala Singapore is a Spanish and Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Bugis, one that we really can’t get enough of. It’s a contemporary space on Fraser Street that’s casual and great for lunch or dinner. The menu is as authentically Spanish as it gets and features tapas, paella, fresh fish and seafood, premium meat and a few options fresh from the charcoal oven to boot. There’s so much to recommend, but we really love the pigeon paella or the Catalan-style slow-cooked lamb rack. La Cala Singapore is right by Bugis MRT so it’s easy to get to no matter where you’re coming from, just be sure to arrive armed with an advance reservation.
