The name “Ichoume” comes from the address of this street. Ichoume is located on ‘1’ Harbour Street, Darling Quarter. That’s why we named the restaurant “Ichoume” (Choume is used for addresses in Japan. It's a way of breaking a municipality into districts. 丁目(Choume) is ‘city district’, so ‘1 choume’(Ichoume) is ‘1st [city] district’).The design concept of the restaurant is a hangout for adults.The menu is supervised by AKIKO ISHIKAWA, who has accumulated her career in many restaurants. The head chef is TOMOHIKO KIMURA . He specialises in Japanese - based cuisine with French techniques and flavours.     Second time attending here and loved it as much as the first. Personal favourites were the unagi meals and the set meals for lunch time.

    We were late after the theatre but were treated with courtesy and the usual excellent service. We’ve eaten at Juzushi many times and have found the food always delicious and beautifully presented. New dishes are frequently included in the menu. The service is unobtrusive, polite and efficient. It’s good value ( we usually spend $60 for food, a glass of wine and tip). The only drawback is that conversation can be difficult because of the high noise level. We appreciate the great live jazz but find that it doesn’t always combine well with a full house. It is possible to go to the back room but there you miss the energy and vibe of the jazz and crowd. All in all, it’s a fave.

    Ichoume is our favourite restaurant in Sydney. The food is always incredible and the service is above and beyond. Big thank you to Yuki for always looking after us! We recommend this place to everyone, you will not be disappointed!

    Ambiance and music is great. Service is outstanding. Love the daily specials and happy hour cocktails. The tacos are so good and the custard bao donut is to die for.
