The Bateman Arms was built c.1750 by Sir James Bateman (Lord Mayor Of London) as a building where his Estate workers would collect on pay day. Over the years it became a staging post for weary Drovers to refresh themselves as they walked livestock from West Wales to markets in Birmingham and London.Today, Mike Pope and his team provide a warm welcome to both locals and the many business and leisure visitors who travel to the Marches throughout the year. Serving a rustic menu packed with pub classics and other items such as freshly baked pizzas, we have something for everyone to enjoy.
