Bluestone is a Chicago-style restaurant in Evanston that offers homestyle cooking in a warm and welcoming environment. Owner John, whose obsession with golf led to the more than 250 pin flags decorating the restaurant, opened Bluestone after transitioning from commercial film production. His goal was to create a locale that was filled with friendliness and familiar faces, all while serving a variety of menu options with a hometown feel. Guests can enjoy favorites like crab cakes, or branch out and discover a new one from their wrap, soup, quesadilla or burger menus. Don't forget to try homemade specialties such as the turkey or black bean burgers, or the Bluestone signature smoked wings. This is sincerely the BEST new restaurant in Chicago! We have been twice and are going back again next week. The food is excellent and creative. The staff is so attentive and knowledgeable. The owner is super friendly and greeting guests, making sure everyone is well taken care of and happy. But back to the food: so fresh, delicious cocktails, starters, salads and mains. The dessert alone is worth a trip! We celebrated our daughter’s birthday and everything was perfect, truly surpassed all expectations. (And our expectations were high because we have been before).

First time visiting this neighborhood gem and it did not disappoint! The cocktails were perfectly balanced and the beer was delicious. I would definitely recommend the shishito peppers, charcuterie board, bread, duck, and pork shank - they were all incredible. Will be back again!
