Das Mutter Ey Café ist eine Hommage an Johanna Ey welche später als Mutter Ey besonders in der Kunstszene bekannt war. Sie unterstützte um 1910 herum aufstrebende junge Künstler, Journalisten und Musiker. Darunter Otto Dix und Max Ernst. In Anlehnung dazu, wird auch im Mutter Ey Café großen Wert auf Kunst und die Unterstützung lokaler Künstler gelegt.
