Le George Public House est la réincarnation victorienne d'un café du XVe siècle situé à l'angle des rues Strand Street et Fleet Street, directement en face de la Cour royale de justice à l'architecture spectaculaire et à 10 minutes de marche du West End. À l'automne 2014, le bar du rez-de-chaussée et la salle à manger du George installée au premier étage, ont fait l'objet d'importants travaux de rénovation. Cet établissement a notamment créé le restaurant élégant et sophistiqué The Pig and Goose ainsi que la salle à manger privée Horace Walpole. Les propriétaires ont soigneusement conservé les éléments d'origine de ce pub historique et ont admirablement marqué le George Public House de leur empreinte tout en maintenant une atmosphère traditionnelle dans l'ensemble des locaux. The Bunghole Cellars dining room offers a grill menu, tasty salads and a selection of sharing platters and sandwiches alongside an extensive wine list from Davy’s wine merchants cellars. The line up at the bar includes a premium range of spirits, craft beers and delicious cocktails.
The menu offers dishes inspired from cuisines all over the world in a playful and informal manner. It gives you the opportunity to design an experience around the time you have to spend, ordering multiple small plates from the menu to create a relaxed family style sharing experience if you have the time to do so or if it’s a quick luncheon you require we offer large plates for those that need to head back to the office quickly.We make all our own pickles, flat breads, hot sauce and truffle-based condiments to accompany our dishes which allows us to absolutely minimize our food waste, We of course focus on seasonality through the year and source as many of our ingredients from as local as possible to keep our footprint to a minimum.
